Hello World…

I go by Chino Slim. I was born in 1997 and grew up in Orange County, California where I still live today. My parents are Mexican immigrants and I’m the youngest of three, with two older sisters. We all still live together in the house we grew up in.

Most of my free time is spent trying to make music. I’ve been at it for over a decade now. Funny enough, despite all that time, I’ve released very little of it to the public.

After graduating high school, I’ve worked in restaurants. From busboy to server, and now I bartend. Being in the restaurant industry for nearly a decade has been both a blessing and a curse. I’ll get into that more in a future post.

I still kick it with the same group of homies I met in high school. I love those guys. We spend our time doing all kinds of stuff: eating, hiking, raving, working out. It’s a gift having such a solid group of friends. As we’ve gotten older, we hang out less, but I know they’ve got my back, and I’ve got theirs.

So, what’s the point of this website?
Originally, I created it as a place to share my music. I still plan to do that but more than anything, this site is now my version of social media. I deleted all my socials because of how they made me feel. The constant suggested content, the endless scrolling, the algorithm,… it just didn’t sit right with me.

But I still want to shout into the void sometimes. Share thoughts, creativity, photos, whatever I’m into. I know realistically no one will see this, since I have no following. But that’s okay. This little corner of the internet will exist as proof that I was alive.

Most posts will probably be rants, thoughts, or pics of what I’m up to. I hope it inspires someone out there to make their own space online —something personal, away from the big tech platforms. Maybe even spark more meaningful connections.
